Ducted air conditioning

Ducted air conditioning

One system heats and cools your whole home, hidden in the ceiling and zoned so you only run the rooms you use.

What is ducted air conditioning?

Ducted runs your whole home from a single system. One unit sits outside, one hides in your ceiling or roof space, and a network of ducts carries conditioned air to a discreet vent in every room. Nothing hangs on the wall.

Split the home into zones and you only heat or cool the rooms you're using, which keeps bills down. It runs quietly, keeps the temperature even room to room, and is far more efficient than the old gas ducted heating it replaces.

Replace gas ducted heating, claim a government discount

Under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program, replacing your old gas ducted heater with a high-efficiency reverse-cycle ducted system earns a government discount that an accredited installer applies straight to your invoice. No rebate forms, no waiting.

Who's eligible

  • You decommission your existing gas ducted heater (your home's main heating, in use for more than two years)
  • Available to Victorian households and businesses, including rental properties
  • You install an approved high-efficiency reverse-cycle system that both heats and cools

Ideal for

  • Renovations
  • Replacing an old ducted system
  • Owner-occupied and investment properties

What those numbers mean for you

Even airflow through the whole home

Air reaches every room through 8 to 10 ceiling vents, enough for the living areas and bedrooms of a typical single or double-storey home. No box on the wall, no hot or cold corners.

Zone control keeps running costs down

The house is split into 2 to 4 zones, like living areas and bedrooms, or upstairs and downstairs. Turn each zone on or off from the controller, so you only run the rooms you're using instead of cooling an empty house.

The government discount comes off your invoice directly. The exact amount depends on your system and the current VEU rates, which we confirm after an on-site assessment.

Good to know

  • The final discount and install scope are confirmed after an on-site assessment and current government rates.
  • Work beyond the standard scope (extra vents, difficult access, switchboard upgrades) may cost more.
  • The gas ducted heater must be decommissioned and made permanently unusable, with time-stamped photos, as required under the program.
